Bringing Laughter back to life

“Can you guess who am I by listening to my voice?” That’s the challenge the Taiwan ICA students gave me when I landed in Taipei for the first time after leading Chinese classes for more than 2 years. I think I passed the test… When I met the 15 graduates and students in Taipei I have a deep sense of happiness and community. For a Singaporean, I felt like I came home amongst the ICA colleagues and students. My ICA colleagues Pin and Paulina together with the students have helped me through the most difficult patch in my life for the past 2 years. Every hour of teleclass, we exchanged support and warmth and I experienced humanity with every interaction. The commitment our students showed to their ICA learning and what they have learnt reaffirms my belief and intention for the Chinese coaching industry. I believe the Chinese coaches will spread the light in the Chinese speaking community and I will continue to be a bridge between the western and eastern philosophy of coaching. Together we can make it happen! I am deep in gratitude.

I left the students and journeyed on to Taitung, possibly the remotest part of Taiwan, and here I had a chance to cleanse my body, mind and soul. Returning to nature, I’ve learnt the simple living from the A-Mei indigenous people who calls the ocean their refrigerator, whatever they want, they get it from the Pacific Ocean. For city folks who seems to have too much, they are never satisfied, but for the A-Mei people, despite succumbing to the tolls of nature, they remain smiling and happy. I wonder who is the party that is lacking and who has real abundance?

Coaching is a skill that can help people regain their smile and happiness, I am once again grateful to know such a tool that helps myself and others. This ignites the love I have for myself, for others and for my community. In deep gratitude to ICA for providing this platform to love oneself and others.
